LSBM
students receive associate membership to the University
of London Union (ULU). ULU is the biggest students union
in Europe and its members come from the colleges and schools
of the University of London. It was founded in 1955 and
its main seat is in the building at Malet Street, next to
Birkbeck College and Senate House Library.
The associate membership allows student access to the subsidised
ULU cafeteria (picture above) and gives our students the
ability to join the ULU gym, clubs and take part in their
social activities. If you are interested in areas from Polo,
Sailing, Art, Capoeira, Breakdance, Harry Potter, or Money,
you can find like-minded people and join one of the societies. At
Energybase Health and Fitness Club students will find the
53 stations fitness suite, 33 meter swimming pool, a variety
of sport classes and remedial treatments to keep them fit
and healthy.
At the ULU building you can also find a shop with stationary
and memorabilia from the University of London, Student Print
Centre, Optician and a travel agency.
ULU publishes
the largest student newspaper in London, called the London
Student. The paper covers students’ stories, opinions,
features, news, gigs, etc. and is available free of charge
at the Union’s building or online. |
