following information was taken directly from BathSpa
University's printed prospectus.
"The
programme of study follows the three related strands of
Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing and Surveying
and these run through all three years of the course.
In Year 1 you will learn the fundamental, underlying principles
of GIS, remote sensing and traditional surveying. In Year
2 you will build on this knowledge moving on to the most
recent developments such as surveying techniques using
satellite positioning systems and remote sensing techniques
involving high resolution imaging from space an airborne
laser scanning.
In year 3 you will apply your knowledge to real world
applications such as engineering surveys, land cover surveys,
land use change analysis resulting from natural and man-made
incidents, building maps and 3-D models of the world around
us."
