"This
exciting MSc programme aims to provide specialist theoretical
and practical knowledge in molecular and cellular genetics
for the study of human disease.
It focuses on the development of research skills in medical
genetics and human disease, and is designed to enable
you to develop the ability to become an independent and
creative scientist, able to form useful working hypotheses
and to analyse data appropriately. The course will help
you to develop an advanced theoretical understanding in
cellular and molecular biosciences, cytogenetics and genomics.
Taught modules will focus on how a greater understanding
of these processes ha created new avenues and targets
for therapeutic intervention for many human diseases.
Biosciences at Brunel has a high international standing
and world-renowned research. Students attending this course
will have the opportunity to conduct their dissertation
normally within one of our research centres.
You are assessed by a variety of methods including dissertation
thesis writing, exam, laboratory reports, oral and poster
presentations.
