Professional Accreditation
"This course is an approved degree course for the purpose of giving the graduate basis for registration by the British Psychological Society, provided the minimum standard of qualification of second class honours is achieved.

Course Content
The Psychology course at Brunel ensure you gain an understanding of the breadth and diversity of the discipline but with the opportunity to specialise as you discover areas that particularly interest you. We emphasise the everyday and real-life significance of psychology by encouraging you to explore the relationship between the practical and theoretical aspects of the subject both through your academic study and your work placements.

At Level 1 you will tackle psychological issues in a multidisciplinary context. At Level 2, modules cover the core areas of the discipline including the cognitive, social, abnormal and developmental psychology. You also study a broad range of quantitative and qualitative research methods.
The majority of your options at level 3 will be in psychology but you may choose some from other associated disciplines.

Work placements
Work placements in the four-year sandwich route give you the opportunity to experience psychology in practice. You may work in hospitals, prisons, schools, special education units, child guidance clinics or the social work departments of local authorities, or you may contribute to research projects linked with universities, government departments or private companies.
