The
following information was taken directly from Brunel University's
printed prospectus.
“This
programme integrates the design process with software-based
modeling and simulation tools. You will share the early
part of your course with the other Design students, and
so gain a thorough grasp of design fundamentals.
At level 3, we place greater emphasis on computer-based
communication, simulation and modeling. Designs are realized
as virtual models or through our rapid prototyping facilities.
The latter include Fusion Deposition Modelling and 3-D
coulour printing in addition to CNC machining.
Typical modules:
Level 1
• Design Process 1
• Graphic Communication 1
• Workshop
• Mechanics and Materials
• Technological Design Revolution
• Electronics and Maths
Level 2
• Graphic Communication 2
• Design for Manufacture
• Structural Analysis
• Systems Design and Modelling
• Electronics, Programming and Interfacing
Level 3
• Major Project
• Innovation Management
• CAD Principles
• Computer Aided Design Methods
• Environmentally Sensitive Design
• 3D Graphics, VR and Animation
• CAD Modelling and Prototyping.”
