"MSc
Forensic Odontology at Glamorgan is the only degree of
its kind in the UK. Taught by internationally renowned
experts in the field, you will develop theoretical knowledge
and practical skills that are vital to a range of specialist
forensic investigations such as disaster victim identification,
bite mark analysis and protection of vulnerable people.
Investigative forensic odontology has been applied to
many pre and post 2000 events, including multiple fatality
incidents such as the Tsunami devastation in Thailand
and the aftermath of terrorist attacks, increasingly,
forensic odontology skills are used in investigations
concerning child protection and protection of the elderly.
Successful graduates should be able to apply their specialist
expertise to a range of investigations where teeth and
or mouth parts may have been involved in criminal offences,
or used to identify victims of crime or natural events.
The demand for a specialist who is capable of analysing
and interpreting evidence from teeth and bite marks, and
the demand for graduates of this calibre, is recognised
