The
following information was taken directly from the University
of Glamorgan's printed postgraduate prospectus.
"If
you are interested in working as a sport and exercise
psychology consultant in applied sport and exercise settings,
or if you want to pursue doctoral work in sport and exercise
psychology, this award has a broad focus that provides
a thorough theoretical and practical grounding in sport
and exercise psychology.
The programme itself is not a professional qualification
in sport and exercise psychology. The course offers knowledge
and expertise for further training for a career as a chartered
sport and exercise psychologist. After a minimum further
two years of British Psychological Society-approved (BPS)
supervised practice, students with an MSc in Sport and
Exercise Psychology can qualify as a chartered sport and
exercise psychologist. However, subject to BPS approval,
the course may serve as a basis for further training as
a chartered sport and exercise psychologist. The BPS will
only award accreditation status once the programme is
running, and this accreditation is therefore pending a
BPS visit in the programme's first academic year.
Course Content:
• Psychological Skills
• Lifespan Issues
• Social Processes
• Exercise and Physical Activity
• Professional Skills/Counselling
• Research Methods

This is a full-time one year program.
