The opportunity to gain work experience in another country will enhance your career path and life experience. This program may help provide you with the skills necessary to engage in the international labor maket. Plus the experience will provide you with a new cultural perspective that cannot be gained in the classroom. This is an unpaid learning opportunity.

Objectives of the program:
• To provide participants with first hand experience of working in an international organisation on a variety of projects within an international environment
• To provide participants with an opportunity to develop a number of professional skills and test them in real-life situations (working in a team, leadership, time management, conflict resolution, planning, implementing, executing, motivating, communication)
• To provide specialized guidance and constructive training

Brief description:
Participants will start their program in London, UK, where they will spend three days. During that time they will participate in a one day seminar at a business school in London, for which they will receive a certificate in Project Management and will then have a free day to go site-seeing in the city center.

From London the group will take a trip to Lodz, Poland. On arrival the participants will take part in an orientation, which includes guidelines and expectations as well as a tour of the local area. Participants will work for 10 weeks at the Hatch headquarters in Lodz. Working time is Monday to Thursday, 10am till 4pm.

At the beginning of each week, they will be given a brief detailing their tasks for the upcoming week. The participants will be working in teams of 3. At times, they will be assigned a Polish speaking intern to work on projects that require local language speaking ability. At the end of each week every team will need to prepare a report describing their progress on a project – this will be assessed and included in the final assessment of the program. Some projects may require a field trip to a company’s site. At the end of the program, each participant will have been working in different teams on different projects, outcomes of which will be presented in the Program Portfolio..
